Dubai is a state-city of impacting technology all around it, and crime prevention will now not be an exception.
Authorities have installed the world's first Robocop, which will start working on the streets this week. The robot was unveiled at an Information Security and Expo Conference.

There are a whole host of functions this machine can do, among them, face scanning and fine payment reception. They have a touchscreen face, through which citizens are able to post crime reports.
With a Star Wars-esque look, this new crime fighter is white, black and green and has a height of 5 feet, 5 inches. It is also able to read facial expressions, and communicate in several languages.

“The launch of the world's first operational Robocop is a significant milestone for the Emirate and a step towards realizing Dubai's vision to be a global leader in smart cities technology adoption”, said Brigadier-General Khalid Nasser Al Razzouqi. He is the Director-General of Smart Services for the Dubai police force.

Al Razzouqi commented that Robocop will be able to assist people at malls or on the streets.
On his part, Dubai Police commander-in-chief Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri said that “police robots have been tested by some police forces in the world and we are planning to have them in future.”
