Popular music artiste Rasque is left to battle with heart break as his childhood friend who he eventually married left him for another gospel artiste Mike Abdul.
Infidelity and promiscuity are two words that are very peculiar with secular musicians, but interestingly, gospel musicians are no exception. An empirical evidence of this is the scandalous romance between Mike Abdul and Monique, two gospel artistes.
Abdul is a member of the Midnite Crew, while Monique, the Kabiosi crooner, is a female gospel singer and wife of Rasque, a now faded hip hop star who rocked the scene under the label of Kennis Music many years ago.
Rasak Lawal popurlarly known as Rasque, who grew up around Iju-Ishaga axis of Lagos with Temitope Fabiyi a.k.a Monique, had been dating her since her secondary school days, and the relationship was getting stronger by the day. In fact, Monique would always boast among her peers that her boyfriend is a ‘star.’
The relationship metamorphosed as Monique moved in with Rasque and they both lived happily as husband and wife for many years. According to Naij.com’s impeccable sources, the relationship started hitting the rocks gradually as several efforts by Rasque to resuscitate his nose-diving music career proved futile.
As a result of this, Rasque struggled to pay bills. This later prompted him to promote his wife’s music, hoping that it would fly and save the family from its financial mess –it did.
Monique’s first major single became an instant hit as the chorus ‘kabiosi oba gbogbo aye…’ became an anthem of sort in churches and social circles.
Without much ado, Rasque got what he didn’t bargain for as Monique, who is now playing the role of a breadwinner, suddenly began to show some unfamiliar attitudes. Meanwhile, Abdul, who was still married to another gospel musician, Vivien Stephen Eva, was already having a secret affair with Monique.
However, Rasque has moved on, while Abdul has called it quits with Vivien, to settle down with Monique, who is now signed to his Spaghetti Records.
