The application to stop the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office has been dismissed by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja.
The application seeking to stop the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed from swearing-in Buhari was initiated by the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its candidate, Ambrose Owuru.
According to the three-man panel presided by Justice J.S. Ikyegh, the application was “unmeritorious”.
