Chelsea's Europa League final against Arsenal to be played in an empty stadium

Europa League final clash between Chelsea and Arsenal is set to be played in front of a nearly empty stadium next week.

Both Premier League giants were said to have failed to sell out the tickets allocated to them by UEFA for the final battle in Azerbaijan.

SunSport further report that sponsors might equally have withdrawn their interests in attending the match which will determining the champions of European second tier competition.

Report from the organisers reveal that the finalists have sold 3,500 and 2,000 respectively, while The Times cited difficulties travelling to Baku as major problem fans are planning to boycott the match.

Meanwhile, about 23,000 tickets were said to have been sold in Azerbaijan while the remaining are expected to go on general sales in the coming days.
