- The governor also said state policing is very important in dealing with the many security challenges facing the nation
- Ishaku asked the residents in Taraba to pray to God for peace as he is not up to the task to handle insecurity

Ishaku made his opinion on insecurity known while answering questions from newsmen on Wednesday, May 22, during the distribution of fertilizers, seedlings, and agrochemicals to farmers in Jalingo.
The governor also emphasized the need for state police in the nation to deal with the growing cases of insecurity.
Ishaku asked the residents of the state to pray to God for peace to reign in the state, saying he is powerless about the security challenges confronting Taraba state.
He said: “If any governor tells you that he will do anything about insecurity, such a governor is lying.
“As governors, we don’t have control over the police or army and virtually there is nothing we can do over security. We have been calling for the establishment of state police, but nobody seems to consider our position.
“The constitution did not place the security architecture of the country in the hands of governors. I am praying myself for peace and I have also asked the people of the state to pray for peace in the state.”
The governor also said that he will work on his achievements and improve the economy of the state through agriculture.
He mentioned that the state has carried rice farming experimentation in Karim Lamido and the success they had calls for the extension of the activity in places like River Donga and River Taraba.
