President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he is willing to abide by the decision of the judiciary at all times as he respects the institution.
Daily Trust reports that the president gave this promise at an Iftar dinner with the representatives of the judiciary on Wednesday, May 22.
The president is facing the tribunal following the presidential election which he won but is being contested by Atiku Abubakar.

President Buhari said he believes the judiciary should be independent saying he submitted himself before the system three times on his way to being president.
He said: “I respect the institution. I have come before you three times before I got here on the fourth run for the office. Your word is the last word on any given issue.”
Buhari praised the capabilities of Nigerian judges, saying that “your training and experience has earned you respect.”
The acting chief justice of the federation, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, who led the retired judges and some justices of the Supreme Court to meet with the president assured the nation that the judiciary will continue to safeguard the country’s democracy.

He praised President Buhari for not meddling in the affairs of the courts in the country.
Meanwhile, President Buhari said that his decision to retain cabinet ministers in the last three and half years in spite of pressures from some quarters is because of their unique skill, strength and leadership qualities.
The president made this known during a valedictory session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) held at the presidential villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, May 22.
